Here's a running list of The Common Man and Other's comments
- 4/12/12 - Peeking inside President Obama's Campaign Strategy Meeting
- 2/23/12 - Interesting article in the Wall Street Journal today by Joseph Rago, "Health Care's Coming Price Revolution"
- 1/10/12 - An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism’s core plan. All grades will be averaged and everyone will receive the same grade so no one will fail and no one will receive an A”.... (substituting grades for dollars - something closer to home and more readily understood by all). After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. To their great surprise, ALL FAILED and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great, but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. --- It could not be any simpler than that. On December 6, 2011 President Obama gave a speech in Kansas saying that rugged individualism and limited government doesn’t work and never did! His essence of class envy and class warfare is to make all equal as in the story above. Starts with a good sounding story but just doesn’t work, never did and never will. The Pilgrims nearly starved to death and died that first year with their initial socialist concept. The next year they changed to individual property rights and a capitalist concept starting on the trail to save themselves and start the strongest country ever, one that has greatly benefited the whole world! For our individual, collective and the entire world’s benefit we as Americans need to push hard away from socialism and toward rugged individualism and a capitalistic society. Let’s raise all boats, not drain the water out from beneath all where we would all be equal but stuck in the mud! It is a vital founding concept.
- 12/15/11 - TCM reads today a multi-billion dollar company wants to double it US sales. Great! Let's go, that has to help the economy. So how do they plan to do it? A central part of the stategy is moving its headquarters to Washington DC to gain more influence with the US Govt! Not better products, more products, more works, more sales people, instead pursue political power to grow their business. All TCM can suppose is they have seen other companies pursue political influence and reap great success so that method is being copied. What a sad statement about our govt!
- 12/7/11 - Our current President really has downgraded the position of the US Presidency. Used to be the US President was called the Leader of the Free World. Unfortunately our President has chosen to be so devisive and lead only the liberal wing of the democratic party and fight against all other US Citizens.TCM would say being just leader of maybe 20% of the US citizens is much less of a position of respect than Leader of the Free World. TCM would think a President would prefer the higher image. Hopefully our next President will return the US Presidency to the position and respect of being Leader of the Free World!
- 11/27/11 - Do liberal columnists live in the real world? TCM does not thinks so. Today's example is a Clarence Page column. He's upset about politician's "No New Taxes Pledges". Clarence Page writes, " Nobody likes taxes. But for a government that works, delivers the services we want and balances its budgets, polls indicate that most of us would be willing to pay the price". He infers this means we should raise taxes and most people are for that to support our govt. He misses two key realities. First is the complaint of many that our Federal Govt does not work properly as it does not follow the US Constitution's limits, it does not earn high marks for services delivery (duplicative training programs for example) and does not balance its budget! Remember the Democratic lead Senate has not passed a budget for more than two years. Second point is with nearly half of the country not paying Federal Income Taxes, and apparently many thinking the 1% should pay it all, there is NOT agreement that most people would support that government. Where does he get information that most want to support (pay income taxes for) out govt? Many appear happy to pay nothing and then to complain they aren't treated fairly regarding taxes.
- 11/20/11 - Is it any wonder why The Common Man believes government is out of control? This morning's paper has three examples why.
- The State of Florida has a loan program for minorities that
- by law has all records exempted from being available to review
- has no method for the loans to be paid back
- is a continued priority for funding in 2012 by a special interest group of 24 Florida Democrat Senators!
- doles out the money via groups that has had their leadership convicted as felons for other Federal crimes such as bribe taking when running other government boards.
- Why does the government even get involved in things it should not be doing???
- The "super-committee" (a bad idea to begin with) is finding it impossible to provide their recommendation for cutting the deficit. Senator Richard Durbin (D, IL) says, "We don't have the answers.....The Super Committee was put in place" to develop " a stategy to take us through the election" by resolving the toughest outstanding budget problems. " If they don't succeed, then we have to address these issues." !!!!!!!!! This makes The Common Man's head nearly explode.
- Isn't getting answers on fixing problems they created their job?
- The Super Committee purpose was to get them through the next election??????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- "If they don't succeed, we have to address this." What doublespeak. They are the they!!!!! Urgh!
- The Senate (Democrat controlled) has not passed a budegt in years! The "do nothing" (Republican controlled) has but Harry Reid, Senate Leader and Democrat, won't let the budget be considered or voted.
- The Christmas Tree Federal 15 cent tax (to promote live Christmas trees vs. artificial) that was shelved is in the paper again as a fact check article. The Common Man is now wondering if Fact Check needs to be fact checked. They actually said the tax wasn't a tax because the tree seller paid it, not the person buying the tree!. Hello, an embedded tax is still a tax! However the real point that came out in the Fact Check article that bugs The Common Man is that there are Federal Regulations to promote:
- Cotton, Mangoes, Potatoes (hmm, was Dan Quayle's spelling correct?), Raspberries, Mushrooms, Watermelons, Honey, Popcorn, Peanuts, Blueberries, Hass Avocodoes, Soybeans, Sorghum, Pork, Eggs, Beef, Wool, Mohair and Lamb!!!
- Are prices of these things higher because of programs like the failed Live Christmas Tree Promotion Tax?
- And the super committee could not find 5 cents out of each Federal Dollar to cut, too hard for them to find where to cut!!!!
- The State of Florida has a loan program for minorities that
- 10/20/11 - Announced today: Washington DC is the wealthiest city in the US, hmmm, wonder why with trillion dollar deficits?
- 10/19/11 - It is disappointing to feel so poorly about a US President but seeing and living through the era of such a partisan, divisive President is soooo disheartening! Day after day instead of leading our country he attacks half its people with statements he knows are lies. It is so discouraging as a citizen. It is hard not to think we have a President that actually does not love our country, how sad to think and say that. If the President did love our country wouldn't he try to pull it together and seek solutions. Maybe when his wife said she had never been proud of her country she was expressing the view of the future President too! The Common Man thinks it is probably an important criteria to look for in a President that he or she have a deep long standing love for and pride in the USA! Should not be too much to ask but we sure got it wrong by ignoring that concept in the last election! God Bless The USA, land that we love....
- 10/18/11 - It is really simple to see how we got in this mess.
- Banks had long standing standards for issuing mortgages
- Borrowers not meeting those standards did not get loans
- The Federal Government saw that as discrimination and threatened banks beginning in the 1990's to start issuing loans to many that did not meet existing standards
- As this was unsound banking business, the Federal Government said it would back these loans via Freddie and Fannie
- As they were now "guaranteed loans backed by the government" they were a marketable commodity when bundled together.
- Banks sold the mortgages so they could get funds back to issue more loans, as the government desired. Recall President Bush's goal for The Ownership Society?
- Since loans were easy and cheap to get, the demand for homes increased which caused a spike "bubble" in housing prices.
- Eventually the sure volume of existing unsound loans was no longer sustainable and the market crashed dragging down the economy.
- Did "Wall Street" and banks make money doing this? Yes. Would they have done it without being forced by the government to do it? Not likely. Where should The Common Man focus wrath in this mess? Should be at the foot of those to blame, the Federal Government.
- 7/15/11 - Isn't deficit spending just a delayed tax increase? Seems obvious. If they approve $2.4 trillion more deficit in the next 2 years, doesn't that really mean a future tax increase, one that our children must pay. Let's stop stealing from our children. ...and???? McConnell's current "plan" lifts debt limit with goal to get past next election, adding a whopping $2.4 trillion to the debt limit. There are 15 months till the next election. That means they will be approving $1.92 trillion added deficit per year. That's higher deficits than we have had so far! Are they trying to break the record and reach $2 trillion deficit per year? And the McConnell plan supposedly requires $1 trillion in cuts? Where's any cuts? Is there now a hidden plan that spending was up another trillion dollars but just not discussed or made public? Remember not so many years back when $500 billion was an outrageous deficit per year?
- 7/4/11 - Well, it looks like we need The Common Man to get back involved. Doesn't it seem most, if not all, of the troubles the USA has could have been prevented if we just followed our Constitution? Those that want to interpret the Constitution however they wish ARE somewhat against our country. They may be for their vision of the country but are they really patriotic and true to our country as set by the principles set forth in our founding? Doesn't the constitution define what our country is? If one doesn't like it then seek amendments, not new interpretations!
- 1/31/10 - Sarah Palin has a post on her Facebook that quotes President Obama saying the health care bills they were pushing did in fact place the govt between the patient and the doctor. The Common Man wonders if our President will also apologize to those he called liars for pointing out the bills did just that!!
- 1/31/10 - Last week TCM found personal and national reinforcement that the democratic party is the home of racism and discrimination. 1st TCM saw a very liberal associate that TCM sees only in late winter & spring. Within a few minutes of conversation TCM's liberal friend suggested TCM couldn't vote or support a conservative politician that TCM had a bumper sticker for. Why? The politician was a minority. Within minutes the liberal friend added that TCM can't vote for another because the other politician was "gay". Neither of these thoughts had ever come into TCM's brain. It is the liberal who discriminates. As an added liberal bonus confirmation, Chris Mathews, a well known liberal TV commentator, spoke of how he forgot for one hour during the President's State of the Union address, that President Obama was black. That obviously means the rest of the time Chris Mathews views him as a black. Martin Luther King Jr had hoped and waited for the day that skin color didn't affect how people are thought of, or treated. He would be happy that The Common Man does in fact lead life from a color blind position. It is sad these liberals are still stuck in those outdated racist views. For additional background read this link.
- 1/31/10 - After the victory by Scott Brown in Mass. (Thank You) TCM heard on Progressive Radio it is a sign the people in Mass were upset, upset that Obama and the Democrats hadn't done enough yet! Talk about out of touch.
- 1/31/10 - Back at it. Its hard finding time toward adding comments. May be The Common Man just has to be so busy getting by these days. It is a shame the govt is pursuing goals that don't help The Common Man.
- 12/10/09 11:22 am - Let's see. Everything is an emergency and must be passed before consideration of the details can be made. This includes stimulus, health care, climate change legislation etc. Doesn't anything warrant taking it slow? Oh that's right, one thing does. August support of our troops fighting does and could wait till December, no rush needed there.
- 12/10/09 11:17 am - Now that the "scientific" community has been found to have lied, deceived, made up, selectively chosen and actually deleted the founding temperature data can we get back to acknowledging there is no consensus and possibly this was all about some individuals making money and others seeking grant money? Once a group is found to have made up claims in one area, nothing they claim can be counted on as truthful. Doesn't it bother everyone that they said they needed to delete information and the basis of findings before Freedom of Information requests were fulfilled? TCM knows that is not legitimate science.
- 12/10/09 11:10 am - President Obama wanted input on healthcare. TCM sent them months ago. Time to repeat some here. President says others have no ideas other than to do nothing. That is a lie and he is well aware of it. How can we trust leaders that lie routinely?
1) Insurance plans must cover pre-existing conditions
2) Policies cannot be canceled when they people get sick.
3)
Allow individuals and small business to be part of groups to purchase policies.
4) Allow insurance companies to sell policies across state lines.
5) Incorporate true liability / tort reform.
6) Provide tax credits to individuals up to some income level to buy or assist health insurance purchase.
7) Go ahead and make health insurance with some catastrophic insurance coverage mandatory similar to auto insurance.
8) Do not allow the government option as there is no constitutional authority and #6 & 7 above address health care for all without expanding the deficit.
9) Encourage insurance purchase to be by the individual, not employer provided. That will initiate the consumer/patient to consider costs of health care which will lower cost and solve transportability if lose or change jobs.
10) Find the waste in Medicare and Medicaid and use it to lower our ever growing deficit.
11) Encourage Health Savings Accounts.
- 12/10/09 11:08 am - Abortion is not health care, it is a cruel method of contraception. Why should American Taxpayers that are against abortion pay for it as a healthcare cost, it is an elective form of contraception in most cases.
- 12/10/09 11:02 am - Proof of irresponsible people in charge of the government is that the Federal Stimulus apparently paid off nearly $6 million in Hillary Clinton's campaign debts. Now there is a good use of taxpayer money. These guys in charge are crooks. When will the 40% or so that support them open their eyes. The current congress and administration are screwing the American people in every way they can!
- 11/18/09 5:10 am - Here's the link to President Obama's maybe better to not have surgery but to take the pain killer reply. Hmmmm. Maybe President Obama, the Democrats in power and the govt are clearly saying we'll ration health care but many just don't hear it because they just can't believe it. They say their goal is to cut costs. They don't say their goal is to provide better health care. He points back to the woman that maybe the care wouldn't help but in the case she asked about, the care Obama suggests not occur is care that had helped her mom! AND it was 6 years ago! (6 years is a long time, it may be 50% longer than President Obama's role as President.) Now a govt panel under the US Dept of Health and Human Services (read TCMfriendGwenn's guest column ) is suggesting reducing breast cancer health care services. We know the stories of the British Health Care system's denial of breast cancer drugs as a matter of cost savings. TCM himself had the opportunity to compare US vs Finland's govt health care and wrote about it before. We need all American's to open their ears. Remember some are listening to folks like Ed Schultz to get their info and he is not telling them the truth.
- 11/17/09 9:30 pm - TCMfriendGwenn speaks out on the just released first item of health care rationing, Women 1st to go with breast cancer health care to be rationed. Read on...
- 11/17/09 7:00 am - The Common Man got to listen to Ed Schultz on progressive radio doing a town hall. TCM first heard Ed a couple months back and thought it was funny as he was a classic example of an old joke. If you don't have anything substantive to say just shout louder. He seemed a perfect example of this. Listening for several minutes yesterday, TCM was again enlightened by the lack of accuracy or knowledge in what he says, although he does seem to speak loudly still. First he explained Medicare is not going broke, its money is just being spent in Iraq and also was lost by the Bush tax cuts to the richest Americans. Doesn't he know that Medicare has a dedicated tax taken from payroll taxes from both the employee and the employer. The tax is paid on all wages without an upper limit like social security payroll taxes. The spending by Medicare exceeds the tax revenue by its dedicated tax income. The Bush tax cuts did not affect the Medicare taxes. (Actually the Bush tax cuts likely increased the amount coming in but TCM will discuss that elsewhere.) Money spent by the govt on the war or on anything does not take money away from Medicare. Doesn't Ed know this. Maybe he talks so loudly that he never heard it explained. TCM believes Ed is smart enough to know it. Ed just lies and say the popular words "Bush tax cuts for the richest Americans" to mis-direct those that listen to him. He is doing a disservice by his errors and lack of honesty.
Second topic was the economic decline and housing. According to Ed the problem was not that loans were provided to people that could not pay them back. The economic downturn was caused by greedy banks that packaged and resold the loans. He says this is so simple, anyone can understand it!!! Wow!!!!! The problem of a loan failing is not who holds the paper, it is that a loan is not repaid. How can he miss that! Furthermore the ability to resell the loan after a bank makes it comes about from what? How about the govt and Fannie and Freddie. Freddie Mac's mission statement includes "Freddie Mac makes sure there's a stable supply of money for lenders to make the loans new home buyers need." That means their mission includes buying the packaged groups of mortgages from banks and financial institutions so that they can issue more mortgages. Ed's unknowingly complaining that the problem is the govt yet he does not understand enough, or is disingenuous again. It is simple but Ed doesn't seem to understand.
Listening to Ed is certainly entertaining and a good way to better understand why some are following leaders down the wrong path. I guess speaking loudly has its benefits. Ed is probably making pretty good money these days harming American citizen's interests with lies and mis-statements. And,,, rich people are bad. Hmmm, maybe Ed is being honest regarding himself that he is a bad rich person.
- 11/11/09 9:25 pm - Looking deeper into the chart below for trend changes. Looks like deficit started down about when Republicans got control of Congress in 1994. Went down till about 9/11. Then started back down about the time of Bush "tax cuts" and then started up again when Democrats took control of Congress in 2006. Then went nuts when President Obama and the current unrestrained Democrats took over!
- 11/11/09 9:01 pm - The Common Man found a chart of the US deficit. It is staggering how much money the Federal Government is spending. Tall blue bar on the right is 2009. Source is www.
usgovernmentrevenue.com.

- 11/11/09 8:05 pm - Let's research how we as citizens can start the process of getting back to the limits of the US Constitution. Is there a method to remove members of the Supreme Court if they uphold laws that actually go against the US Constitution? The US Constitution says, "The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behavior...". Does that mean removal can occur if any do not exhibit "Good Behaviors"? hmmm..
- 11/11/09 8:00 pm - The US Constitution grants the Federal Gov't certain specific powers. To get our country back on the right track we need to force it back to only the powers granted to it. All other powers are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Every hear that before? Look here.
- 11/11/09 7:54 pm - What are we going to do when Washington out grows itself? At the rate of growth the Federal Gov't is growing out is extreme. Already high deficits are 4 times larger already. Soon there won't be room in Washington for the Federal Gov't to fit. Who want's it next?
- 11/8/09 5:08 am - "Fired Up! Ready to go!" You betcha! If the govt thinks the citizenry was angry when they (some) hosted town halls in August they will really hear it now. The Common Man is truly "Fired Up! Ready to go!"
- 11/8/09 5:05 am - It is tiring to hear those politicians that keep speaking that they are creating a historic moment. Time decides historic moments, not just declaring one. If the current health care bill goes forward with its errant "fix" our country will be changed for the worse.
- 10/31/09 8:08 am - The America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 announced by Nancy Pelosi results in premiums for it's health care exchanges that are higher than average premiums for private plans!!!!!!! So much for being more affordable than the evil insurance companies. Maybe it is mis-named. If the high premiums of private plans means insurance companies are "evil" does that mean Speaker Pelosi is saying the government is evil???
- 10/22/09 7:30 am - How should one lead? Two distinct leadership types are leading as Jesus Christ did or as Fidel Castro does. Our current President follows Castro’s style, not Jesus’ style. The Common Man wishes our President would follow Jesus’ style. read more
- 10/14/09 10:32 pm - The Common Man wrote NFL Commissioner Goodell today
that if the NFL did not find Rush Limbaugh acceptable as a limited owner of the Rams, TCM may well decide to drop long held NFL tickets. Rush Limbaugh is the most outspoken individual in America in support of people being the best they can be, regardless of race. The NFL is obviously struggling to fill stadiums due to the drop of the economy caused by the same racist, anti-Rush government officials that crashed the economy. Commissioner Goodell's weak statement calling Rush Limbaugh devisive was directed at the wrong individuals. Rush is not the divisive one, it is those that falsely go up in arms about him. It is a very sad day for the NFL which appears happy with lowering the standard of individuals in the sport over the last few years. Criminals are welcome but maybe not patriotic Americans that daily strive for America to be its Best! - 10/14/09 6:19 pm - Where can one start!!! The Common Man is a busy person making do with the current economy the government has crushed and is continuing to crush. Lets's begin catching up in no particular order.
- TCM saw the news did a "fact check" on the Saturday Night Live skit on President Obama. Actually TCM did not see the sketch but who cares? SNL skits have made fun of many people in politics and possibly other areas. Who cares? The sketches aren't sources of news or facts. Why do a "fact check"? Doesn't it say something by itself that as soon as President Obama is made fun of that we need "fact checks" of SNL? It is pretty sad that news organizations will go so far to prop up the President. Best to let people watch, laugh or not laugh and move on. It's not worthy of "fact checking".
- 9/25/09 10:47 pm - The Common Man and The Common Woman watched NBC's season premier of Law & Order this evening. NBC is well known for its heavy bias in support of the current administration. This premier has ended our viewership of any show on NBC. It is outrageous the propaganda they develop and show. Below is the email body sent by The Common Man to NBC tonight. If we can find a list of advertisers we will be extremely reluctant for YEARS or longer to give those advertisers The Common Man's hard earned dollars. Their propaganda is totally unacceptable.
"The propaganda against those that secured our country providing you the freedoms you conduct business under, as done by the strongly anti American pro current administration Law & Order this evening, is totally unacceptable. NBC is well known as being strongly biased against American individual interests in order to prop up the current administration. You have gone too far. My wife is a long time viewer of your Law & Order shows and I have usually watched with her. We will not watch your network and if we can find those that support you via advertising we will be reluctant to purchase their products.
It is terrible that an American company can be so against the interest of the people of the United States of America. I hope you're happy with your nonsense propaganda. "
PS The Common Man and Woman are MAD.
- 9/25/09 6:45 am - Every day as long as The Common Man can remember our government is promising and spending. So The Common Man did the math. Here is why we can't afford it any longer.
- 9/16/09 8:40 pm - Having heard former President Jimmy Carter call others, that aren't, racist convinces The Common Man that former President Carter is racist! His finding racism where it isn't is because his heart apparently harbors deep seated racism.
- 9/16/09 8:36 pm (from tcmfriendJeff) - To The Common Man,The term "racism" is such a cliché term that is overly used to mean other things. It is often confused with prejudice and bigotry. First let us look at prejudice --- “prejudging” READ MORE
-
9/16/09 5:25 pm - Seems racism is back in the public discussion. The Common Man has already discussed this and it is re linked here. The true home of racism is the Democratic Party. Conservatives are not and have not been tolerant of racism. The Common Man hopes and prays liberals can stop seeing the world through their racist eyes. Our country needs all Americans, not just conservatives, to be color blind.
-
9/16/09 5:03 pm - Common Sense why government health care will see an increase in overall cost. Think of health care as being dining out. Does one eat more when a specific meal is ordered or when there is a buffet? A buffet of course. Once cost is not an issue to the provision of a service, the demand will increase.
-
9/16/09 6:50 am (from tcmfriendjeff) - What would happen if Obama's plans came to fruition?
- Let us begin by taxing the evil rich. This takes more of what they have worked for and gives it to the federal government so that they can dish out what is left, after they have paid their bloated overhead of bureaucratic bundlings, to those less fortunate for: healthcare, housing, cash for clunkers, energy efficient appliances, etc. etc. READ MORE
- 9/15/09 8:00 pm - South Carolina Democratic Congressman James Clyburn was asked where the Constitution permitted the Federal Government to regulate the health care system. He said show me where it doesn’t. How embarrassing a congressman does not know the Constitution!!!!! Amendment 10, from the original Bill of Rights on 12/15/1791, states, “The powers not delegated to ...the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” When our representatives don't even know our founding document how can we expect good government? Perhaps Congressman Clyburn should spend some time on the right hand side of TheCommonManUSA's web site.
- 9/15/09 7:30 pm - Does anyone else think it's a conflict for the someone in this case, the President, to be on record saying he favors a single payer government health care plan (instituted in steps over time) while also saying the problem is a lack of competition for health care insurance coverage? Isn't a single payer system the ultimate monopoly with complete lack of competition??????
- 9/13/09 5:59 am - If YOU want to build a better country for any reason, including hope and change, great. The Common Man is all for that. If you want to do that and not follow the US Constitution, then go elsewhere to do it. There are many countries that qualify. The list of countries needing change is long. The USA already is a great country. Do we want change? Yes, but we want change based upon the greatest founding document in existence, the Constitution of the United States of America!
- 9/12/09 12:23 pm - If we look back over the last administration The Common Man is appreciative of former President Bush's personal growth in leadership so quickly after 9/11. There is much to be admired and respected in his approach. However The Common Man was not in favor of the deficit spending he approved and the Republicans in Congress/Senate initiated. It is the now extreme quadrupling or more in deficit spending of the new group in power that has spurred the People to finally speak up.
- 9/12/09 12:00 pm - Is it only The Common Man that finds it odd that the Chief Executive of the United States has so much free time that he can spend so much time away from Washington simply repeating his lines about health care? Is the role of President so unnecessary or easy that the President can ignore the duties one would expect the President has?
- 9/11/09 5:00 am - A day of National Prayer and Remembrance. May we all pause and remember those that died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01. May God
bless the 2,973 that died and also the survivors, family and friends. May God also bless the multitude of responders, first and follow up, that assisted at a time of such need. And May God Bless America.

- 9/10/09 8:50 pm - Why didn't President Obama acknowledge admiringly, or at all, the multitude of average citizens that spoke out in August voicing so many individual concerns? As a "community organizer" isn't that what President Obama would strive for? Makes The Common Man Wonder.
- 9/10/09 10:22 am (from IW) - You are NOT the COMMON MAN, you are the EXTRAORDINARY MAN.
- 9/10/09 6:45 am - Will the President "Call Himself Out"?
- 9/9/09, 8:30 am - It's the Constitution Stupid! That sums up what many of us
think about what our government is doing just as Bill Clinton ran on, It's the economy stupid.
- 9/8/09, 8:40 pm - The only thing transparent so far in the new administration seems to be fakeness of the new "trigger" that would hold back the government option from becoming mandatory unless 5 years go by and insurance companies are found not to lower health care costs. Of course the government would find the trigger conditions to be met and thus demand the government option kicks in.
- 9/8/09, 8:30 pm - How can citizens respect and believe the President, Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid in anything when they lead with lies in their public comments??? They are back today saying if Republicans or others have ideas for discussion on healthcare they are open to it, but they say Republicans have
brought no ideas to the debate. They are full of it and it is obvious. Many ideas worthy of discussion have been brought up by Republicans and others. If they are obviously dishonest and disingenuous with these public comments, then we cannot trust any ideas they have on a serious issue like health care!!!
- 9/8/09, 7:30 pm - Great simplification brought up by The Common Man's friend
Jeff today. Think of heath care as a gum ball machine outside a school. When health care and insurance have a cost, say 25 cents for a gum ball, the machine sees some percentage of gum balls bought each day, maybe 25 percent. If health care becomes "free" as in government provided, the gum ball machine will be emptied everyday as the demand for gum balls will go through the roof once they're free. "Free" government health care can't be the answer or direction to pursue.
The Common Man USA
